At BoxWorks, DigitalOcean (NYSE: DOCN), the AI-Native Cloud, today announced a collaboration with Box to support enterprise developers building agents on business content, alongside the launch of DigitalOcean Cuttlefish, a native iPhone app for Managed Agents. DigitalOcean expects enterprises to build on the Box platform, Managed Agents, and Cuttlefish together to take on domain- and function-specific work across teams such as legal, finance, engineering, and support, with the person responsible approving key steps from anywhere.

  • DigitalOcean Cuttlefish: a native iPhone app to follow live agent sessions, approve or deny tool calls, and steer or stop a run.

  • Box Mount: syncs a Box folder into each Managed Agents session, so agents work on a team’s real contracts, reports, and specs, with Box’s permissions, version history, and audit trail applied to every change.

“Agentic work is a new paradigm. Builders direct agents that work on projects and check in when a decision needs a human,” said Vinay Kumar, Chief Product and Technology Officer of DigitalOcean. “That turns every builder into a supervisor, and supervision shouldn’t wait for someone to get back to a desk. Cuttlefish keeps people in control from anywhere, and with Box, their agents can work on the content their companies actually run on.”

DigitalOcean Cuttlefish: Control your agents’ work from anywhere

Users follow live sessions as replies, reasoning, and tool calls stream in, with notifications when a run needs approval, finishes, or fails. They approve or deny tool calls with the full command, file path, or diff shown. They can also redirect, pause, or stop a run. Cuttlefish works with whichever harness a team runs on Managed Agents, including Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, OpenHands, Hermes, LangGraph, and CrewAI. Sessions run in DigitalOcean MicroVMs that persist independently of any device, and billing follows active CPU use, so agent wait time has minimal costs.

Box Mount: Your agents work on content in Box with full control

Box Mount syncs a Box folder into every session of a Managed Agents environment. Users pick the folder in Cuttlefish. The agent works on plain files; its edits, including deletions, sync to Box, and changes made in Box show up in the workspace. Each person syncs with their own Box account, so Box’s permissions, version history, and audit trail apply to every change.

“AI agents need secure access to enterprise content to deliver useful results — and the ability to share their output with the right set of collaborators,” said Biswaroop Palit, VP, Product Management Platform and Integrations at Box. “With Box Mount, developers using DigitalOcean Managed Agents can give agents secure access to business content in Box, with existing permissions and audit trails preserved. The agent’s output syncs back to Box for review by the team of human collaborators. Together, Box and DigitalOcean are helping developers take action on enterprise content while retaining the security, governance and collaboration needs an enterprise relies upon.”
